Why are we going to win?
Unfair advantage, expertise, expereince
Three reasons: "unfair" advantages, domain expertise, and 2nd-time Founders.
(1) Ygor leads a union of 60 importers and faces the pain of Africa's USD illiquidity. His family leases real estate to Tier 1 banks, providing unique access to partners. Khaya compounds with dinner-time access to his brother (the CEO of South Africa's state cooperative bank), who facilitates a phone line to the National Treasury to access a $500 million sovereign bond facility. Thus, Ygor +Khaya = 'unfair' influence on regional trade + unique access to banks and Prudential Authorities. The result: O CAC and direct endorsement from the Reserve Bank.
(2) We have Sales and FinTech expertise. Ygor led Strategy for ViacomCBS: launching MTV across 48 countries, attaining $300 million in ARR. Previously, he built credit-scoring models for Experian and Barclays using auto-regression and logit models. Khaya is a pastor who codes. He led front-end engineering for IBM Fintech in Africa and the Middle East, working with United Bank, Du Telecoms, and Standard Bank.
(3) In partnership with Viacom and Nike, we built Bleep, a dApp that scaled to #1 in Africa (100k DAU). We're second-time Founders who know how to scale and have worked together for over five years.
